Larry recently treated my mother's lakefront house for mold and mildew, both of which had spread unchecked all over the ground floor. I was really impressed by his responsiveness, his professionalism and his prompt scheduling of the repair job, as well as by his willingness to drive to her house (not close to his place of business) to help out. Great service and incredible expertise. Larry was hired to check out our house that a "basic" inspection had shown that there might be mold in our house we were under contract to sell. Naturally this held up the whole process. Larry came in, set up his gear, and while the organic sensor was base lining, he checked for moisture in every 4 square feet of wall space of both floors. His organic sensor showed VERY clean air in the house. Larry did not find any moisture except a slight bit that he could tell was only residual from a recent repair, which I did not mention until he pointed it out. Larry also did an extensive check of all the attic space. In three days we received lab results with explicit explanations of all readings. No mold in house, we completed the sale.

After some water damage in our home left us with visible mold and the worry that there might be more, we hired EnviroTek to come test our home and give us an idea of what we had ahead of us. Our insurance policy allowed for a one-time mold remediation payout and knowing how difficult it can be to remediate mold we were very concerned about getting it right the first time as there would be no second chance that we could afford. To say that Larry Hendrick put our worries to rest would be an understatement and things only got better as they progressed. He conducted thorough testing and had a separate lab generate the results. He explained the process in detail before any work began. Since we were also having damaged flooring taken out, he coordinated to control the work site to prevent further contamination. Afterwards, the actual cleaning process began and this is where my appreciation for Larry's work really set in. Having people that we didn't know handling every piece of property you own is a bit unsettling but the EnviroTek crew was the most respectful and meticulous team of workers I've ever had in my home.
Unlike some contractors who bring in day laborers that they know nothing about to assist on jobs, the EnviroTek team are full-time with the company. Once the job got going, I felt completely relaxed. The post-remediation results were better than anticipated and nothing absolutely nothing got broken or came up missing, and Mr. Hendrick set us up with the  tools and information we would need to keep our home safe from a recurrence of mold. My wife and a good friend of hers are both highly allergic to molds and neither have had any kind of reaction in the house since the cleanup so, combined with the labs, I know this was done right. I have been suffering with respiratory problems for some time and also skin irritations. My local health department suggested that I move out of my home because of the severe mold that was making me very sick. I moved out of my beautiful home which was heartbreaking to me. I moved into a small trailer just to be able to breathe. I thought all was lost and my life was over. My preacher knew what was going on and contacted a certified mold inspector and he immediately came to my rescue. He took air samples and cultures and determined that mold was present and very heavy in some areas of my house. I hired Envirotek to inspect possible mold and mildew damage from some unfortunate water leaks following the renovation of our home. Envirotek inspected the home with moisture meters and collected samples by swabbing the spaces in question. The specimens were sent to an independent laboratory and we promptly received a detailed report of the results as well as a proposal to maintain a pure/mold-free home. EnviroTec (Larry Hendrick) came to our clinic as a referral by the State of Alabama Health Department. Mr. Hendrick upon entering our facility realized there was a serious indoor air problem. He took several sterilized cultures to send to the lab, he also took several pictures of suspected problem areas. Before leaving he asked if he could leave an air sanitizer in the clinic for he suspected a serious problem that should be addressed immediately. He left the equipment and later returned with the lab report and advised the type of molds and the spore count. I started having a sinus infection June 28; after 4 weeks of antibiotics and no improvement, I went back to the doctor and had a CT scan. The CT was clear which meant no sinus infection but I was still having major headaches and sleeping 2-3 hours a night. I was referred to a neurologist and he ordered a MRI; this too showed everything was normal. After having lost $1200.00 on my vacation which I could not take to Cozumel and not being as productive at work; I was determined to find the cause on the non-stop headaches. I asked everyone and took every prescription, non prescription and holistic drug that I could obtain; still no relieve. My headaches started about 6 weeks after I finished painting a 4 year old house and moved in. Some told me it could be my house that was making me sick, perhaps mold in the walls or under the tub or carpet; maybe a/c ducts. I refused to believe them since the house was only four years old. To prove them wrong, I moved into a local hotel. That night I started searching the internet and realize that it could be the house, maybe mold or some type of gas. I searched for mold inspection companies and came across EnviroTek. I inquired by filling out the form; the next morning Larry Hendrick called me. I explained my situation and we set up an appointment for the following day. He and his son showed up on time and as soon as Larry stepped in the house, he said he smelt something and to give him a minute or two. I was still a little skeptical and thought he might just be trying to sell me something; I couldn't smell anything. He and his son started checking a/c vents, under kitchen sink and taking air readings. First item he noticed was higher than normal formaldehyde levels in the kitchen and living room but when we got the back of the house where the bedrooms had carpet, the formaldehyde levels were double from what they were in the kitchen. He also discovered the humidity level in the master bedroom areas were around 62%. He informed me mold starts growing at 65% but could start at 62%. The headaches by now had reached 6-7 weeks so I was ready to rip out the carpet but Larry said this was not necessary. He said he could clean the air with an air sanitizer. I was skeptical and didn't see how this machine could do that. However, I took his advice. He had just loaned out his last one so he ordered me a new one and I received it two days later. I called him as he requested and set it up per his instructions. I had also bought a dehumidifier and reduced the levels from 60%+ to around 45%. After two days of cleaning the air, I checked out of the hotel and returned home. Considering the cost of the home and all the repairs and labor I had put into it, it was nice being able to sleep in my own bed. Of course, the headaches are gone now. By missing my vacation, cost of doctors visits, co-pays with insurance, prescriptions, dehumidifier, hotel stays, etc.; I'd say this headache (or formaldehyde) cost me $2500.00. It would have been more if I had replaced the carpet. Luckily, I came across Larry with EniroTek. Does the air sanitizer work? All I can say, the headache is gone and so is the summer. Hopefully, I can enjoy next summer without the headache. I thought it was mold but it was not. He took samples and sent them to a lab where they were deemed normal.
